VOLUME TWEEZERS

Classic and Volume Tweezers may look identical, but they’re not! When it comes to Volume, the tweezer is a make it or break it. Even the most skilled Lash Artist will not be able to create volume fans with the wrong tweezers. Volume Tweezers are more expensive, as they are created with precision so it can pick up those ultra-fine extensions.

Volume Tweezers have a “sweet spot”, where the foot of the tweezer closes completely. The foot is completely flush, so it can grab onto the entire volume fan without it falling apart or losing any lashes. Tweezers are handmade, so the “sweet spot” will vary on every tweezer even if it’s from the same manufacturer. It’s best to purchase tweezers that are hand tested, so you’re guaranteed to receive a pair that works properly.

TYPES OF VOLUME TWEEZERS

There are different types of Volume Tweezers. The one you use is dependent on the Volume Technique and your Comfort.

Boot: Swipe, Strip, Bounce

J Curve: Pinch

90 Degree: Swipe, Strip, Bounce, Pinch

45 Degree: Swipe, Strip, Bounce, Pinch

The above are just recommended techniques for each tweezer. You may choose to use a different technique. It’s all about comfort!

TWEEZER ADJUSTMENT

Even the best Volume Tweezers can lose grip overtime. Don’t throw them out though! They can be easily tightened, and will work perfectly again. Most Classic Tweezers can be adjusted to create a “sweet spot”, as long as the tip of the tweezer is flexible.Use a pair of jewelry pliers to carefully adjust the tip of the tweezers. Be very gentle, as you don’t want to ruin the tips! Adjusting tweezers is a micromovement!

VOLUME LASHES

Volume Lashes are ultra-fine, so multiple extensions can be applied to a single lash. There are different types of Volume Lashes that can be used. In addition, not all extensions are created equally – you may prefer one brand over the other depending on the volume technique. Due to the extensions being ultra-fine, some brands may tend to lose curl quicker than others. You can test out the curl retention by popping a strip of lashes into hot water – some brands will completely lose curl, while others don’t.

VOLUME LASHES

Volume Lashes are identical to Classic Lashes except they are must smaller in diameter. They can be used for any volume technique.

These ultra-fine extensions can sometimes stick together, making it harder to fan out. Use a clean mascara wand to roughly brush (sideways, back & forth) through the lash strip prior to starting. This will help separate the lashes, allowing them to fan out easier.

PRE-MADE FANS

Pre-Made Fans are volume fans are that have already created with the bases pre-bonded by heat or adhesive. They look identical to Pro-Made Fans. They are great to keep on hand for lash emergencies – sometimes your hands can be overworked and make fanning really difficult. Pop these babies out and it will save the day!

It is very important to ensure that these are not mistaken for Cluster Lashes, which have a knot at the base. These are not meant for lash extensions and can severely damage the natural lashes if used.

PR0-MADE FANS

Pro-Made Fans are the same as Pre-Made Fans except they are made by you! It’s a lot more cost effective, and you’re able to customize your fans according your liking.

Make your fans beforehand and store them in a container until you need to use them!

EASY FAN LASHES

Easy Fan Lashes are multi-layered layered lashes that have bases which are slightly stuck together. These are great lashes for beginners, as it allows you to learn how to manipulate the lashes into a fan without the bases falling apart. The downside of these lashes are that the bases can be a bit boxy if more than 8 lashes are used.
